Since reacquiring point guard Jason Kidd on Feb. 19, 2008, the Mavericks are 41-32. ... Dallas ranks 14th in the NBA in points allowed but has given up 100 or more points six times in the past nine games. ... Owner Mark Cuban told the Dallas Morning News this week that he spoke with New York Knicks guard Stephon Marbury when the Mavericks played at New York in November. Marbury is free to speak with other teams, but no deal appears imminent. ... Only Kidd and former Warrior Erick Dampier have started all 44 games for Dallas this season.
