Dirk isn't a daddy, after all.
Dirk Nowitzki's former fiancee Cristal Taylor had claimed for months to be carrying the Dallas Mavericks star's child. But prison medical records released Thursday proved that she is not pregnant, according to multiple reports.
"As we suspected. We did not believe her story," Robert Hart, Nowitzki's attorney, told the Dallas Morning News.
Last week, Taylor, 38, was sentenced to five years in prison for violating probation in a forgery and theft case. She is incarcerated in St. Charles, Mo.
In a July court order, a Dallas judge ordered pregnancy and DNA testing in the Taylor-Nowitzki case. Hart and the Mavericks announced Thursday that Taylor tested "HCG negative" on Aug. 31. HCG is the medical term for the hormone produced by pregnant women.
Nowitzki, in South Africa this week as part of the NBA's Basketball Without Borders program, was informed of the results, according to reports.
"Good news on Dirk's ex," Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said via his Twitter feed Thursday. "No surprise. Can't wait [for] training camp."
