ABOUT THE Mavericks: They opened a four-game Eastern trip Monday with a last-second, 95-93 victory over Philadelphia. Dallas snapped the 76ers' seven-game winning streak. Dallas, which will also play Detroit and Boston on the trip, has won two straight but lost four in a row before that.

Dirk Nowitzki, Mavericks

The former Bucks draft choice sank a 17-foot jumper at the buzzer to give the Mavericks their victory over Philadelphia. Nowitzki scored 24 points on 7-of-23 shooting against the 76ers but averaged 34.3 points in the three games before that on 61.9% shooting. He is fifth in the league in scoring (25.9) and is the team's leading rebounder (8.6).
