--The Mavs need interior help and were working on moving high into the second round to try to select Pittsburgh's DeJuan Blair, but they were unable to swing a deal. Dallas instead watched Blair go with the 37th pick to the Spurs, who also need interior muscle after shipping Kurt Thomas and Fabricio Oberto to Milwaukee for Richard Jefferson. --The Mavs will now be able to scout prospects practically in their own backyard.
