--The Mavs again outshot the Spurs from the 3-point line, a reversal of the regular season, when San Antonio was one of the best teams in the league in free throw shooting. Dallas hit 10 of 20 3-pointers in Game 5, while the Spurs made just 3 of 16.
--Other than Jason Terry, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle kept his reserves mostly tied to the bench. Brandon Bass played 13 minutes, although he had a strong first half to help the Mavs build a lead, and Antoine Wright logged just 6:46. Center Ryan Hollins was the only other bench player to see action -- 32 seconds of it. Guard J.J. Barea started his third consecutive game after coming off the bench in the first two. --Dallas was 18-23 on the road in the regular season but ended the first-round series with a win at San Antonio, the Mavs' second road win in three games.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We still are." -- Jason Terry, on the Mavs being labeled as underdogs before the playoffs.
