--The Mavs scored 30 points in the first quarter Sunday and then 30 combined in the second and third quarters, including a season-low 11 points in the dreadful third. Dallas scored 44 points in the final three quarters.
--Is Mavs coach Rick Carlisle getting more comfortable with his bench or is he simply playing guys because he has no other choice with Josh Howard, Devean George and Jerry Stackhouse injured? During the second quarter Sunday in Cleveland, Carlisle rolled reserves Ryan Hollins, Gerald Green, J.J. Barea and James Singleton with Jason Kidd. That lineup was the initial crack before the dam broke in the Cavs' runaway. --The Mavs ensured a second straight non-winning season on the road Sunday in the loss at Cleveland, which dropped Dallas to 17-21. They'll make it two losing seasons in a row with one more loss. The Mavs have just three more road games left at Minnesota, at Memphis, where the Mavs have already lost once by 20 points, and at New Orleans.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "They're the best team in the league right now. They probably have the MVP in LeBron (James). They're playing well at home. Hopefully, they think the game's at 7:00 (pm) and not at 1:00." -- Jason Kidd, on the Cavaliers prior to Sunday's 102-74 defeat.
