--Even with owner Mark Cuban's billions of dollars, the Mavs are not immune to the awful economy. Last season, they let go eight business-side employees. For the upcoming season, they've announced some discounted tickets. Prior to the economic downturn, the Mavs offered some $2 tickets and will do so again for a third consecutive season. They also have selected 10 games for discounted tickets, including $31 seats for $20 and $42 seats for $32. --The Mavs will unveil an alternate jersey a week before training camp opens. Dallas already sporadically wears a third, retro-style uniform that features the franchise's former green as the prominent color with blue trim. The last time the team broke out a different jersey it was a monumental flop. The silver "metallic" jersey, designed by rapper P. Diddy, lasted all of one game at the start of the 2003-04 season. QUOTE TO NOTE: "The Mavs and HDNet have been long-time partners and we are excited to expand our relationship." -- Mavs owner and HDNet co-founder Mark Cuban, on an agreement that will place the HDNet logo on Mavs practice jerseys and on coaching staff apparel worn at practices.
