--A couple of streaks ended Wednesday for the Mavs. Their five-game home win steak was stopped. They had not lost at home since Dec. 15 to Denver. Also, their 13-game regular-season win streak over the Hornets in Dallas was also snapped. Meanwhile, their losing skid was extended to four.
--Wednesday's loss to New Orleans dropped the Mavs to 4-4 in the Southwest Division and 13-13 in the West. That makes them 9-4 against the East, which can be viewed as a positive since Dallas begins a four-game trip against East teams next week.
